Iron

Iron and its role in the body.

Iron is an essential part of haemoglobin and moves oxygen and carbon dioxide to and from cells. It also helps in producing connective tissue and is much needed for energy. Iron can be found in such foods as figs, dates and prunes, also in some meats. Deficiency indications of this micro mineral include particularly anaemia and fatigue. One should be careful with iron supplements to ensure that not too high a dosage is taken.
