Further to this there is the major issue of being overweight that so many struggle with. No one wants to be overweight, or indeed underweight for that matter, and there are of course a number of contributing factors to this but by far the main reason of weight problems is a simple lack of understanding of what we are putting into our mouths in the way of food. Many of the foods that are marketed and sold in our shops and supermarkets have been refined so much that they are of little nutritive value and are often loaded with sugar, bad fats and additives. As a result of this, statistics now tell us that most adults in the UK are actually overweight with 18% being classed as obese. Sadly children too have become victims with a study of 694 children showing 1 in 3 girls aged 11 were overweight and more than 1 in 8 obese. Twenty percent of boys of the same age were also overweight with twenty percent obese. Sedentary lifestyles and sub-optimal health were blamed. So what is Optimal Health and how can you get it?
